Week 5 is OVAAAAAA!!
Every week I say I’m not gonna procrastinate next week, and every week I end up procrastinating…. Oh well. I got it all done though, so whatever works?
1. Read and Reflect on The Vignelli Canon:
I read & reflected. I found this to be very interesting, and it really tested my knowledge of art and design. You can read my reflection HERE!
2. Watch some films: Your choice:
I watched Double Indemnity due to the fact that Kelsey and I live tweeted about it last week. You can read all about my responses HERE.
Kelsey and I watched in luxury with popcorn, sour patch kids, and some wine. What is really a better way to do DS106 work?

3. Complete a DesignBlitz:
I was sitting in the front seat of the STRUGGLE BUS for this assignment.
I was so preoccupied studying for my History of Math and Chaotic Dynamical Systems tests, that I totally slacked on this assignment. I was able to complete it, with a little help of some pictures from back home. It is amazing how pictures you’ve already taken can change in meaning when you apply them a different way. However, you can see my lovely photography skills and a description of what design features I featured HERE.
5. Complete at least 12 stars of design assignments
12 stars is a lot, with 6 dedicated to the beautiful Blair Morgan, but not when you are an assignment bank champ. *insert muscle emoji* I love building up Blair’s story. I decided to do the following assignments:
- Postcards from a Magical Place (3 stars TOWARDS BLAIR)
- Newspaper Design (3 stars (TOWARDS BLAIR))
- Professor Groom Poster (4.5 stars)
- Lyric Typography Poster (4 stars)
IF you lost count, that brings me to a whopping 14.5 stars. CAN YOU SAY OVER ACHIEVER! Woooooot. Anyway, I had a lot of fun creating all of these designs. I definitely pushed my limits, and went above and beyond what I thought I was capable of. AND I had fun doing it.
6. Inform Yourself about Copyright & Creative Commons:
I definitely informed myself, and you can read my reflection HERE. I learned a lot reading the pieces and watching the videos. There is a lot to know about copyright, but there also seems to be a lot of loop holes as well. I hope to learn more as the semester goes on.
Here are some Mia thoughts from the week

working on one of my design assignments and the amount of images that come up when you type @jimgroom into google is crazy.

Lastly, I am embedding a picture of my desktop post Design Week…..
I CAN’T WAIT TO GET RID OF THIS CLUTTER.
